Refund & Cancellation Policy
(Effective for all bookings made on or after 1 January 2026)
This policy complies with the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and provides fair protection for international customers.
1.Your Statutory Cancellation Rights (UK & EU/EEA consumers only)
If you are a consumer (booking as an individual, not on behalf of a business, school or organisation) and the course is booked online, by phone or away from our premises (i.e. distance selling), you have a legal right to cancel within 14 calendar days of the date we confirm your booking (the “Cooling-Off Period”) and receive a full refund, no questions asked.

To cancel during the Cooling-Off Period, simply inform us in writing (email is fine) to sportsmartseducation@hotmail.com

If the course starts within the 14-day Cooling-Off Period and you have expressly agreed that the course can begin early, you will lose your statutory right to cancel once the course has started.
2. Cancellation by You (after the 14-day Cooling-Off Period (or for non-distance bookings)

3. Transfers (moving to a later course date)

Requests to transfer to a later course date received in writing more than 14 days before the original start date: Free of charge (one transfer only).

Requests received 14 days or fewer before the original start date: £75 transfer fee.

No transfers are permitted once the course has started.
4. Cancellation or Postponement by Sport Smarts Education
We reserve the right to cancel or postpone a course due to insufficient numbers, tutor illness, venue issues, severe weather or any other reason outside our reasonable control.
In such cases you will be offered:

A full refund of all fees paid, or
-
A free transfer to the next available date or an alternative course of equal value
We will not be liable for any additional costs you incur (travel, accommodation, loss of earnings, etc.).
5. Non-attendance / No-shows
If you (or the named learner) do not attend the course or any part of it without giving prior written notice, no refund or transfer will be given.
6. Business, school & group bookings
Where the booking is made on behalf of a company, school, club or other organisation, the statutory 14-day Cooling-Off Period does not apply. Cancellations and transfers are subject to the time scales in section 2 above.
7. E-learning / online-only courses
Once you have been sent login details and accessed the online material, the course is considered “started” and no refund is available (except within the 14-day Cooling-Off Period for UK/EU consumers).
8. Special circumstances (illness, bereavement, etc.)
We will always consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Supporting evidence may be requested. Any refund or transfer in these circumstances is entirely at our discretion.
9. How to cancel or transfer
All cancellations and transfer requests must be made in writing (email is acceptable) to:

Please include your Course venue, course date, learner name(s) and reason (optional).
Refunds will normally be processed within 14 days using the same payment method used for the original transaction.
